Eurgh - Tesco is selling crisps that taste like candy canes

We cannot condone this.

EVERY WINTER, IT seems like there’s a competition between the biggest supermarket chains: Who can create the most outlandish flavour of notions crisp?

M&S had the infamous prosecco crisps decorated with gold stars.

Which Tesco attempted to emulate with the addition of elderberry.

Aldi then decided we needed ‘Confit Duck and Boozy Berry’ crisps.

*shakes head*

This year, Tesco is attempting to top them all with… candy cane-flavoured crisps.

The description reads:

Hand cooked crisps seasoned and dusted with a sweet peppermint flavouring for a sweet and salty taste experience.

Now. We appreciate a good sweet and salty popcorn as much as the next person. But mint? MINT?

One Twitter user that has already tried them described the taste as: “Eating crisps after you’ve brushed your teeth? Like that, but sweet.”

Have notions crisps officially gone too far? If this is an indication of what the Chr**tm*s season is going to be like, we’re already exhausted.
